Think younger and feel younger with hypnosis!

In 1979 psychologist Ellen Langer performed an experiment to find out whether the aging process can be slowed down by changing the way people think about growing old. Professor Langer took a group of elderly men and took them “back in time” to a retreat which has been designed to look like a place from the years of their youth. Rather than being surrounded by nurses and other people helping them, they were left to fend for themselves and be more independent.

The results were very impressive, the men in the study became more self-assure, were able to move much more quickly and could look after themselves without any aid. Professor Langer has said that this study showed that when people think younger, they begin to feel younger and their body reacts accordingly.

Now this was quite an “extreme” study being as the subjects were in their eighties, but if it works for someone at an advanced age then it stands to reason it can work just as well for someone half that age. Someone in their forties could remain very fit, capable and young for the rest of their lives if they were to start a program of thinking younger.

Obviously most people don’t have the option of recreating a scene from their youth, but there is a very viable alternative and that is hypnosis. With hypnosis you can take a little time each day to think yourself younger, putting yourself in the mindset you had when you were in your youth.
